National Energy Administration Releases National Issuance and Trading Data of Renewable Energy Green Power Certificates for January 2026

Among the issued certificates, 152 million correspond to renewable energy power generated in December 2025, taking up 77.49% of the total issuance volume in this period.

I. Issuance of Green Power Certificates

In January 2026, the National Energy Administration issued a total of 196 million green power certificates covering 832,000 renewable energy power generation projects, including 151 million tradable green certificates, accounting for 76.79% of the total.
Among the issued certificates, 152 million correspond to renewable energy power generated in December 2025, taking up 77.49% of the total issuance volume in this period.

II. Trading of Green Power Certificates

A total of 102 million green power certificates were traded nationwide in January 2026, among which 33.69 million were traded via green power transactions.
The volume of independent green certificate transactions nationwide reached 68.37 million pieces.
  • 6.5 million certificates for power generated in 2024 were traded at an average price of 1.25 yuan per piece.
  • 61.88 million certificates for power generated in 2025 were traded at an average price of 5.51 yuan per piece.
