On March 4, 2026, the UAV X-ray Inspection Flight Skill Competition for Transmission Lines, co-hosted by the Power Space Technology Professional Committee of China Society for Electrical Engineering and State Grid Electric Power Space Technology Co., Ltd., was successfully held in Xiantao, Hubei Province.
On March 4, 2026, the UAV X-ray Inspection Flight Skill Competition for Transmission Lines, co-hosted by the Power Space Technology Professional Committee of China Society for Electrical Engineering and State Grid Electric Power Space Technology Co., Ltd., was successfully held in Xiantao, Hubei Province. Du Wei, Vice Chairman of the Committee and Chief Engineer of State Grid Electric Power Space Technology Co., Ltd., attended the event for on-site observation and guidance.
Adopting on-site practical operation demonstration, the competition comprehensively evaluated the overall professional capabilities of 7 leading manufacturers engaged in UAV X-ray inspection within a training environment. It covered the whole operational process including assembly and commissioning of UAVs and inspection equipment, safe online and offline operation of devices, X-ray image shooting and image identification. Core assessment indicators included safety standardization, operational proficiency, working efficiency, imaging quality and defect identification accuracy.
The competition gathered top domestic technical forces in UAV X-ray inspection, and showcased the latest industry achievements and application scenarios. Through practical contests, it further clarified the technical development orientation and on-site operational difficulties of transmission line inspection, providing important references for subsequent technical optimization and standard formulation.
Meanwhile, the event effectively enhanced the influence of the Committee in the field of electric power space technology, promoted in-depth exchanges and cooperation among enterprises, universities, research institutions and end users, and laid a solid foundation for the standardized and large-scale application of UAV X-ray inspection technology in the power industry.
